Meet Hanna
As the heart and hands behind H. Marie Ceramics, I bring a unique perspective to my craft, blending my background in mechanical engineering and manufacturing with a passion for handmade ceramics. This technical foundation shapes my approach, allowing me to explore innovative processes while maintaining a commitment to craftsmanship. Each piece I create balances precision with artistry, resulting in functional yet elegant ceramics that elevate everyday moments.
As a mother of two, I strive to create a work-life balance that allows me to pour passion into my craft while prioritizing family. This balance is reflected in my designs—pieces that bring beauty and simplicity into everyday life, whether it’s a mug for your morning coffee or a vase that makes a space feel like home.
At H. Marie Ceramics, I am dedicated to small-batch production and sustainable practices, ensuring that each piece is crafted with care, intention, and attention to detail. My work is a celebration of the harmony between form and function, shaped by both my technical expertise and my desire to create meaningful, lasting art.
When I’m not in the studio, I’m spending time with my family, always seeking new sources of inspiration to bring back into my creative process.
Inside the Process
Located in Moorhead, MN, my home ceramics studio is where creativity and craftsmanship come to life. A unique aspect of my process is the use of custom dyes to color my clay, resulting in solid-colored, vibrant pieces. This technique allows for bold and distinctive designs that make each piece truly one of a kind.
I thrive creatively when working on custom designs, collaborating closely with individuals, businesses, and wholesale customers to bring their visions to life. Whether it’s for gifts, personal use, marketing, or retail, I specialize in creating fully customized, often branded products that reflect the personality and purpose of each client. My studio is a space where innovation and personal connection drive my passion for creating meaningful, functional art.
